(1) The labor movement derives its strength from democracy and unions lacking true democracy cannot serve in full measure their economic, social, and political function in a democratic society.
(2) Union officers should recognize that unions belong to rank-and-file members and strive to respond to their wishes on issues of policymaking and decision making.
We are what Cash McCarron refers to as "DERANGED LONERS". This is the name he gives to all Union Brothers who see him and his cronies for the thieves that they are . He also calls those Union Brothers that disagree with his fleecing of the UBC" Communists".
I have been in Local 370 for 18 years. In that time I have been as guilty of doing nothing as any Brother in the membership.
I watched John Ragul strut around like a banty rooster and John Stafanik make back door deals . I grumbled but did nothing. Now I have stood by as Kevin Hicks sold out our Local 370 to the Empire Council I watched(and still watch) as these so called Brothers send their pals out to work while good carpenters on the list sit home. Nepotism is alive and well in our Local. We do not run our Union according to the rules. It is run on the Buddy system. One only has to look at the appointment of the last 3 organizers to confirm this. I have watched as Raise after Raise is stolen back by these council employees. They have stolen our Annuity and Health Fund. They intend on stealing our Pension fund. These funds were taken illegally with NO vote of the Trustees. As a long time trustee stated "There was no vote. They went around us" If Kevin Hicks tells you different I say he is a BOLD FACED LIAR. Kevin Hicks does not hesitate to lie to the membership to get what he wants. The "Pension Fund is only 75% funded so I have to take your raise" and the "half truths and misinformation" letter he sent to the membership are two fine examples of his deceit. Lets also ask Mr.Hicks how Jack Simmons got to be a trustee on Local 370s Pension fund. Not stacking the deck are we.
They can call me a deranged loner if they choose. Of course I would love to have them do that to my face instead of behind my back. I am not questioning their manhood. Well. Yes. I am. Deranged Loner or not I can tell you what I am .
1. I am sick of these Council Employees stealing back our raises while they take raises every year.
2. I am sick of our assessment being raised with no vote of the rank and File as required by Law
3. I am sick of the Empire Council illegally taking over our Local.(FOR THE RECORD.WE ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE EMPIRE COUNCIL. ANYBODY WHO TELLS YOU DIFFERENT IS A LIAR. I CHALLENGE ANY EMIPRE COUNCIL OFFFICER TO PUT IN WRITING THAT WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE EMPIRE COUNCIL)
4. I am sick of contractors running our union while our officers do NOTHING to enforce job site rules. Shop Stewards calls for help are ignored . Shop Stewards are appointed with the intent of them "Playing Ball". Ask yourself how many "LONG TERM" contractor employees are appointed as "Shop Stewards" Ask yourself how many times these" Yes Men" have ignored your jobsite request to address your complaints and concerns. When you do get a good Steward who attempts to do his job he is ignored by our Union Officers. (Notice from 370 voice. A fellow Union member whom I have known for years was mentioned in the above paragraph. I have known this member for years and he has always been an honest and dedicated Union man. He was a shop steward on his last job. I mentioned his name as a compliment to him as a good shop steward. Recently he has received phone calls from William Weir and Kevin Hicks in reference to his name being on this site. Mr. Weir had told him I had put derogatory information about him on this site concerning his pension and other possible slanderous information about him. First may I say Mr. Weir that if I had posted defamatory statements on this site it would be considered libel. You having a substandard IQ would not know the difference. Out of respect and at the request of this member I have removed his name. This member had examined what was written and agrees it was a compliment and not the libelous misinformation Mr. Weir had said it was. He asked it to be removed due to the pressure form both Mr. Weir and Mr. Hicks. I have done so out of respect for my Union Brother. As far as Mr. Weir goes let me say that I hope to educate you soon on the meanings of defamation, slander and libel. As far as you putting pressure on this Union Brother just because his name appeared on my site I must say I am quite amused that you two clowns are this desperate
5. I am sick of the attitude of the Officers we have elected to protect us. We have no democratic vote on any issue other than officers who after election become "Council Employees". These officers think they cannot be touched. They line their pockets while they steal from ours. Its time to send them a clear message. YOUR NOT INVISIBLE. YOU CAN BE BROUGHT DOWN. YOU WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN
